BAYNARD PARK AND PARKSIDE

REC BOARD UPDATE –    JUNE 8 2020

POOL & FITNESS CENTER REOPENING

While COVID-19 remains a very serious threat to the health and well-being of everyone, South Carolina Governor Henry McMasters has announced that certain businesses and service providers, including fitness centers and public swimming pools, can reopen on May 18. This includes our pool and fitness center. The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has developed specific social distancing and cleaning/disinfecting guidelines for fitness centers and public pools, which we are not equipped to enforce. Therefore, your use of any Baynard Park Recreation Amenity is AT YOUR OWN RISK. However, we do recommend the following…..

  • MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. SANITIZE SURFACES AS YOU PLEASE.

  • STAY HOME IF YOU HAVE ANY SIGNS OF ILLNESS.

  • WASH YOUR HANDS FREQUENTLY! DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE!

  • WEAR MASKS AS YOU PLEASE.

SWIMMING POOL/PAVILION GUIDELINES

  • Furniture has been positioned to maintain SOCIAL DISTANCING. IF POSSIBLE, PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE. IF YOU DO MOVE FURNITURE, PLEASE REPLACE BEFORE LEAVING. ALSO, PLEASE CLOSE AND SECURE POOL UMBRELLAS AFTER USE.

  • ALL CURRENT POOL RULES AND REGULATIONS (POSTED) APPLY (see Baryandpark.org for details).

  • PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED IN THE POOL/POOL AREA!

FITNESS CENTER GUIDELINES

  • THE NEW ENTRY CODE IS 0214. THIS IS NOT TO BE SHARED WITH NON RESIDENTS!

  • USE YOUR OWN OR PROVIDED SANITIZERS (WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A SUPPLY ON HAND) TO WIPE DOWN EQUIPMENT BEFORE AND AFTER USE.

  • MAINTAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING. WE RECOMMEND NO MORE THAN 5 OCCUPANTS AT A TIME

  • ALL CURRENT RULES/REGULATIONS APPLY AND ARE POSTED INSIDE THE CENTER.

  • PETS ARE NOT PERMITTED.

  • CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 16 ARE NOT PERMITTED WITHOUT A SUPERVISING ADULT.

Your Rec Board members, volunteers and contractors have worked diligently over the past 4+ months to make significant improvements and enhancements to our amenities….and, we’re not done! This is all for the enjoyment of our residents and their guests and to maintain the appeal (property values) of our great community. Please help us keep things nice. This is OUR community. If you notice something out of place or in need of repair, please contact our Property Manager (jmason@atlanticstatesmanagement.com) or your Rec Board (recboard@baynardpark.org). Of course, if it’s something easily fixed/replaced, take care of it.

Here’s a few of our recent actions (some are in progress)…

  • Refurbished Pool/pavilion furniture and umbrellas cleaned and installed; new life ring and pool float rope installed; new ceiling fans installed along with improved parking lot lighting

  • 2 new pool filters installed (major improvement/expenditure)

  • Enhanced/improved landscaping completed around pool/pavilion

  • New, colorful pool signage installed

  • 2 tennis court benches installed

  • Tennis courts/nets power-washed; pickle-ball lines added on court closest to wooded area

  • Bench installed near basketball court

  • Bicycle rack installed in designated area of parking lot (Please invite your kids to use!)

  • Pool entrance pergola washed and stained/sealed

  • New (4) doors installed at Pleasant Point Pavilion (Note – one side of door can be locked)

  • Replaced rotted swing at Pleasant Point with 2 new child swings

  • Pleasant Point parking lot/drive repaving/regrading

Please do everything possible to follow the DHEC and CDC guidelines (visit their websites) for your safety and that of your neighbor. We all desire a return to some sort of normalcy in the days and weeks ahead.

KINDNESS IS INFECTIOUS, TOO, AND DOESN’T COST A DIME! IT’S THE BAYNARD PARK WAY.

Thanks for your support and please let us know if you have any questions or comments.
